It functions in the Palace of Culture, being a monument of architecture built between 1907 and 1925, in a Neo-Gothic style. The edifice is the masterpiece of the architect I.D. Berindei. The palace partially overlaps the old remains of the mediaeval princely court, mentioned in documents in 1434. It was a palace of justice and administration until 1955. The museum complex comprises four large museums: the History Museum of Moldavia - archaeology, history; the Science and Technology Museum; the Ethnographic Museum of Moldavia; the Art Museum. The museum owns goods listed in the National Cultural Heritage Treasure.
