It is a festival of Dalmatian chansons. The festival program takes place in two parts: evening of old compositions and evening of new compositions. The compositions are performed in the accompaniment of the festival orchestra, klape (acapello groups) or ensembles, or accompanied by piano or guitar. An expert jury, the public and six Croatian radio stations present awards (Statues of the chansonnier and Festival plaques) for best chanson, best text, best interpretation, best overall work of a singer-songwriter, best debut artist. The Evenings of Dalmatian Chansons has been held since 1998.
