Patras Carnival

The Patras Carnival is already 173 years old. Today, it is the biggest and most important carnival of Greece, but also one of the most well-known Carnivals of Europe, that take place in the winter.
The Carnival of Patras is an important event with its own, special philosophy. Its main objective is to combine Carnival with Art, and also work towards its constant upgrading and acknowledgement by the biggest Carnivals of Europe.
Together with all the standard events that take place every year, there are also others aiming to strengthen the artistic character of our Carnival and preserve our traditional arts through cultural exchanges with other cities of Greece, South East Europe and the rest of Europe.
