You probably love stories. Then it must be interesting for you to go to Turkey and meet a meddah – a Turkish story-teller. The Meddahlik tradition is very old. Once the Meddah entertained people in caravansarais, markets, coffee houses and mosques. They told stories and legends, described funny incidents and thus educated the others. You can always recognize a meddah telling a story by the colourful scarf around his neck and the beautiful walking stick in his hands.
