The Velagi?evina Architectural Ensemble is one of the most valuable agglomerations of its type testifying to the highly developed culture of living in Herzegovina.
The Velagi?evina complex was built on a branch of the river Buna in Blagaj around 1766.
The complex consists of three residential ensembles of houses and outhouses, linked by covered corridors, forming a unique complex of Islamic residential architecture of the mid-18th century. West of the residential quarters, but linked to them by wooden bridges over the branch of the Buna, two musafirhanas (hostels) for travellers were also erected. The spatial and architectural treatment of the complex forms a harmonious whole with the natural environment.
