The monastery complex is situated 10 kilometers far from Struga, near the border with Albania, on the coast of the Ohrid Lake. The older monastery church, dedicated to the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, was built partially in a cave, in the 15th century. The rest of the monastery complex is comprised of inns, a new church (20th century) and administrative residence. Today it is an active woman’ monastery.
