The monastery is situated in the village of Vodocha, northwest of Strumica.. Since 1018 this church has been mentioned as the seat of the Strumica Bishop. Originally it had three building phases: in the 11th century, in the 12th century and in the 14th century. Only the foundations of the first building survived. The second building was inscribed cross in the ground plan. The third building was built on the eastern side while the earlier church became its narthex. Among the preserved parts of its fresco decoration are: the figures of Archpriests (in the alter space), the Holy Mother of God Eleussa (in the naos), fragments of the scene with the Forty Martyrs of Sebaste. A part of this painted decoration is displayed in the Museum of Macedonia in Skopje. The monastery church is completely restored.
