The Islamic architectural style of this building in Mitrovice is typical of hammams. Hammams are Turkish public baths that were very popular in the Late Middle Ages. The bath in question is at the heart of the Old Town, near other historical monuments that form the central part of Mitrovice – such as the Old Mosque with a medrese (Islamic theological school), the Tower Clock, the Inn and the Old Bazaar.
