To the monastery complex in the village of Leshok, near Tetovo, belong three churches: the oldest one is dedicated to St. Athanasius (14th century), today in ruins; the second one is dedicated to the Holy Mother of God (mentioned in records from the early 14th century, reconstructed and repainted in 1641 and in 1879) and the main church, located in the center of the monastery complex, with double dedication – to St. Athanasius and to St. Lazar (the medieval Serbian king), built between the First and the Second World Wars. It was destoyed 2001, and reconstructed 2005.
This monastery is particularly known as a working place of the 19th century writer Cyril Peichinovic, whose grave is in the courtyard.
